The university course, Publicly Augmented, explored the various manifestations of reality-augmenting technologies and their transformative potential in the design of public spaces. The focus was on examining the increasingly blurred boundaries between reality and virtuality, as well as between private and public spaces. The project centered on the following questions: How do we define reality, augmented reality and virtuality? How do navigation systems, audio walks, or interactive advertising displays expand our reality? And how do we want to design the virtual public spaces of the future?

This course introduced students to the fundamentals of projection mapping, from the technical setup and software tools to the creative possibilities of transforming surfaces with light. Alongside the technical instruction, students were supported in developing and realizing their own project ideas, turning the course into both a technical foundation and a space for artistic experimentation.

radicle-tui provides a set of modular terminal user interfaces for interacting with the Radicle code forge, acting as a high-level interface on top of the existing Radicle CLI. It is designed to integrate cleanly with existing tooling. Beyond the Radicle-specific applications, it also exposes the custom application framework they were built with, which can serve as a general purpose foundation for building terminal applications. The project was funded by the Better Internet Foundation, a non-profit committed to supporting projects and people developing resilient, non-extractive peer-to-peer technologies that promote Internet freedom.

Deep.Dance

In Deep.Dance, a team of international artists replaces itself with an artificial intelligence. A complete choreography, created by an artificial neural network that they programmed, is executed down to the last detail by three dancers. The strangely familiar movements open up an emphatic view into the hyper-logical world of code and confront the viewers with a construct that is accessible to few people and yet determines our future.

I was born in 1985 near the Baltic Sea. One day my grandfather, who was a statistician in the GDR, brought home an old Robotron 5120. It was the first computer I ever got my hands on. How excited I felt. I can still remember how much I liked the feel of the keyboard and the satisfaction of typing commands and seeing the screen respond.
